Station Radio 128B (SR128B)
This radio covers 2 to 8 MHz and comprises a separate 5-valve
receiver with continuous tuning of two switched bands and a
2-valve crystal controlled transmitter. 4 spare valves are
stored in the transmitter case. I believe there were
inverter and dry battery power options for this set.

I never got round to finding technical info on this set so
have not used it on air.
I understand that this set was developed in the 1950s for
special forces (SAS) use - it is certainly lightweight but
seems a little fragile by comparison with (for example) the
A16 aka UK/PRC316 of similar capability but seems to have
been around until at least the late 1970s (this set has
test documentation from 1976 and labels from 1977).
Update 30-June-2009
It turns out that I did have schematics for the SR128B that
were actually labelled incorrectly as "No. 8 Set"
now that I have obtained the excellent Radio Bygones article
(No. 54 Aug/Sep 1998) by A. J. Wedgewood G0TJD, which shows
a different schematic drawing but all the component references
and values I have checked seem to match.
